T.J. Martinson is from Kankakee, IL. His debut novel, The Reign of the Kingfisher, comes out March 5th from Flatiron Books. He currently lives in Bloomington, IN where he is a PhD candidate in English at Indiana University. His research interests include 20th/21st Century Literature, History & Philosophy of Science, New Materialisms, and Posthumanism. His dissertation, Genealogies of the Postmodern: Reflexive Embodiment in the Age of the Gene, investigates the philosophical dimensions of the Human Genome Project alongside and through contemporary postmodern metafiction.
